41. "Last week the Spring Creek Community Choir sang in the Capitol rotunda. I want the folks back home to know what a wonderful and impressive, even emotional, performance they gave. Most impressive though, was the reception they were given by the audience, which lined the railings of the third and fourth floors to listen. I have never witnessed such long applause at the end of a performance. We have a wonderful group of kids and adults in the Spring Creek Community Choir, and I want to let them, and everyone in Sanders County know how much they were appreciated."
42. "I am the Director of My Friend's House Childcare Center and felt that I needed to thank publicly an organization that is dedicated to helping our youth. We have been helped over the last three years in so many ways by the wonderful youth that attend Cross Creek Academy. Both young men and women have always been there to volunteer for any service project that we have. They have cleaned out our gutters and flower beds, spread gravel, put together new playground equipment. They volunteer in each of our classrooms at least twice a week and are happy to sit with the children and play, paint, read, dress up, stack blocks, etc. Every one of them has been so very willing and helpful. They demonstrate all that is good about today's youth. They have developed skills that will benefit them their whole lives and are a true joy to have around."
43. "A program is a process your son or daughter goes through in an effort to better their lives and the lives of others around them. It is not a person. It is not a place. It is not a thing. It is an idea. The idea that your child can do it. The belief. The inspiration. Strict? Yes. Hard work? Definitely. Worth it? You bet.
44. "The Program is the ladder we climb, step by step, back out of the rut ready to start anew. It is a second chance at life. One of the greatest blessings you can give your son or daughter, is being the one to put that ladder in their rut and let them climb out. It's like saying to them, 'I believe in your power. I believe in your strength. I believe in your willingness to change. I believe in you!'"
45. "Most students come out of this Program able to think things through. They are more apt to act on logic than on anger or frustration."
46. "Graduates have the tools to do well. They have been taught about choices and accountability."
47. "Spring Creek Lodge has not only inspired me to live, but to live my life to its very fullest. To make each day count. Now, I am learning every day how to be myself, love myself, and take a stand for my life. And you know something? It feels great."
48. "The young men and women in the Program do not need to be fixed. They were never broken - just went astray. The Program is here to guide them. The bad news is, this Program is only as hard as you make it. The good news is, this Program is only as hard as you make it!"
49. "...his goal is to finish his Ph.D. and teach at the college level. I am so proud of him! The life changes he made in the Program have stayed with him. He has grown into such an awesome young man! Thanks to each and every one of you who helped this young man through a difficult passage. You all are so much more than wonderful! Yes, I am indeed a very proud and grateful Mom!"
50. "I don't know if I would do so well if I were sent out into the world right now without finishing the program. I probably would have committed suicide like my father did, and I don't want to go down that path."
51. "The program is clearly working for my son. He told me last weekend: 'I wouldn't leave now if you asked me to; I am learning the skills I need in my future life.'"
52. "My son loves it, and even though he is 18, he chose to stay there when other kids left, because he knows the program is working."
53. "This letter is my plea to you to let you know that I am extremely happy with the treatment by the staff of Casa by the Sea and believe that they have made progress with my daughter both in terms of her high school education and her behavior. I do not wish to have her progrress disrupted because of the opinions of the press or a few disgruntled parents."
54. "Our son is happy in the program and is making steady progress. He is learning to be a leader and a problem solver. He will be a powerful young man when he graduates from the program! And we, his parents, will be able to love and support him in his endeavors."
55. "The American adolescent mentality is, 'do what you want, do what you feel like'. The Progam is the opposite. You have to earn your freedom. It was a tremendous help to me."
56. "If I hadn't gone into the program I'd be dead right now, because I would have killed myself. Desperate situations need desperate solutions."
57. When asked about criticism of The Program, Colette shows off photos of what she once looked like: a dark-haired wannabe gangster smoking pot and drinking every day. "Man, you can point out everything negative about anything, but talk to me and I've changed my life. Talk to me, and I've got a relationship with my parents. I'm headed somewhere in my life."
58. "There is little question that WWASPS Programs - including two in Mexico and at least eight in the United States, with a total of roughly 2,300 children - fill a crying need for parents unable to cope with their children. Many parents who strongly support Tranquility Bay, see it as a near-miraculous crucible for changing defiant and delinquent teenagers."
59. "I have a healthy graduate, I have a healthy and happy family. And I continue to live my life with passion, power and purpose, as I promised in Visions.
60. "I know everyone has different experiences of the program, but for our family it has saved our son's life, and I will continue to support it here, in parent support groups, and talking individually to families who are where we were a year and a half ago."
